Music City Nuclear Pharmacy is a Nashville, licensed radio pharmacy specializing in the preparation and delivery of radioactive drugs for diagnostic and therapeutic use. MCNP is a local business specializing only in radio pharmacy. We are not a branch of national chain pharmacy and are concerned only with our Nashville area customer base. We do not have sales staff or sales quotas, profit quotas, corporate overhead or any of the other factors that add to customer costs, but provide no customer value. We appreciate our Middle Tennessee customers and focus only on providing quality products and services.

Our radio pharmacy opened in February 2005 and currently provide comprehensive radio pharmacy services for nuclear medicine departments within hospitals and clinics. We have safely dispensed over 500,000 nuclear medicine products and services throughout Middle Tennessee since 2005.

We are staffed by Authorized Nuclear Pharmacists, Nuclear Pharmacy technicians, and support and delivery personnel. MCNP serves as a clinical preceptor site for Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students. We currently preceptor students from University of Tennessee, University of Arkansas, Belmont University, East Tennessee State University and Sullivan University.

Radiopharmacy Service
MCNP prepares, dispenses and delivers diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals to hospitals and clinics twenty-four hours a day. Products from all major manufacturers are available through the pharmacy. Doses may be dispensed as prescriptions in patient specific unit dose syringes, or as bulk vials. Service includes the retrieval and decay of all radioactive waste from doses delivered. 

USP 797 Compliance
In 2013, MCNP made the investment in facility upgrades, equipment upgrades and procedural modifications to comply with USP797 Standards. Dispensing sterile IV products in Tennessee is regulated by Tennessee Board of Pharmacy guidelines and is State Law. Our cleanroom is inspected twice yearly to insure all items related to Environmental Quality, Cleanliness and Equipment functionality are present to insure our clients receive a sterile product for use in their patient’s diagnosis or therapy.

Quality Control
All required regulatory and quality standards are assured for all doses delivered. Documentation of test results is supplied upon request.

Experienced board certified nuclear pharmacists and technical personnel are available to answer questions regarding the pharmacology of radiopharmaceuticals, unexpected biodistributions, adverse reactions, drug interactions, radiation safety, regulatory requirements, reimbursement strategies, and

Health Physics Services
We are licensed by the Tennessee Department of Radiological Health to perform several Health Physics Services:. Sealed Source Leak Testing, Dose Calibrator Q.C., Nuclear medicine meter calibration and repair is also provided.

Research Assistance
Our offerings include literature searches, research design preparation, investigational drug procurement, specialized labeling procedures, pharmacokinetic analyses, dosimetry estimations, plus many other cognitive services.
